FAQs

Everything you want to know about the juice kids love

1. How should the products be stored?

Unopened products should be stored in a cabinet or the refrigerator. Opened products should always be kept in a sealed container in the refrigerator to ensure maximum freshness. NESTLÉ JUICY JUICE products should not be frozen, as freezing can compromise the overall quality of the products.

2. Can the products be used after the Best If Used By Date?

Products within shelf life have the best quality and freshness. Products beyond the Best If Used By Date on the container would not be a health hazard, but we would not recommend using them since they would not be of the highest quality. The Best If Used By Date can be found in these places:
  • Plastic Bottles: Top of the bottle cap
  • Juice Boxes: Top of the box
  • Non-Frozen Concentrate Can: Bottom of the can

14. At what age can I begin serving NESTLÉ JUICY JUICE to my child?

The best time for your child to start drinking fruit juice is when he or she is ready to start drinking from a cup. This typically happens around 6 to 8 months of age.

TO INTRODUCE THAT FIRST SIP OF JUICE TO YOUR BABY:
Start with a diluted, gentle, non-acidic juice like apple. Measure 2 to 4 ounces of juice into a sippy cup. Limit the total amount of juice to no more than 4 ounces per day. Dilute the juice using the 1.1 ratio; one part water and one part juice. Remember, your baby’s primary source of nutrition is still breastmilk or formula.

Wait at least one week before offering a different fruit juice to make sure your baby has no allergic reactions. Avoid feeding them juice like orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, and tomato juices before 6 months of age, as those juices are more likely to cause an allergic reaction.

If you are unsure, consult your pediatrician.

16. What does NESTLÉ think about the American Pediatrics Association article on juice consumption?

We agree that 100% fruit juice can be a healthy part of child’s diet because it can be an excellent source of Vitamin C and potassium. 100% juices can also contain antioxidants that reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer. NESTLÉ believes that all food and beverages should be consumed in moderation and that fruit juice should not be used as a replacement for milk or whole fruit.

17. Is NESTLÉ JUICY JUICE still a participating partner with Box Tops for Education?

Due to competing programs, we have decided not to renew our partnership with Box Tops for Education. We are proud to report that Nestlé has given more than $10 million to schools through Box Tops for Education during the last 5 years of our sponsorship. General Mills and the other Box Tops brands have been tremendous partners for us and we have so much respect for the program and how it benefits schools everywhere. We appreciate our partnership and our common goal to raise money and wish them continued success in supporting schools. Juicy Juice will continue to honor Box Tops redemptions through July 31, 2015.
