Mother's Day Frame

WHAT YOU NEED

Caps from NESTLÉ JUICY JUICE 48 oz. or 64 oz. plastic bottles (1 cap for each child's picture)
1 small picture of each child in the family
1 5 x 7 picture of the children together
1 sheet of 6mm purple craft foam
2 sheets of 6mm blue craft foam
1 sheet each of 2mm craft foam: green, yellow, red, white
Craft glue gun
Black permanent marker
1/2 inch wide roll of magnet

HOW TO DO IT

Wash and dry each NESTLÉ JUICY JUICE bottle cap.

Print out the templates. Template 1. Template 2. Template 3.

Cut out the flower, frog and frame pieces from appropriate colors of craft foam as indicated on templates.

Assemble the pieces to make the flower and frog.

With a craft glue gun, glue the NESTLÉ JUICY JUICE cap to the center of the flower and frog, with the inside of the cap facing out (see diagram).

To assemble the frame: Use the templates to cut out all of the frame pieces from the indicated colors of craft foam.

Place the back layer of the frame on a flat work surface. The 8 1/2 inch sides will be the top and bottom of the frame.

Glue the second layer of the frame directly on top of the back layer.

Glue the 8 1/2 inch middle frame strip across the bottom edge of the second layer and one 5 1/2 inch strip on either side, leaving the top edge open.

Glue the top layer of the frame directly over these middle strips.

Once this is completed, you will be able to insert your picture through the opening left at the top of the frame.

Cut two strips of magnet to measure 5 inches in length. Use a craft glue gun to glue them to the back of the frame.

Glue the flower to the top left corner of the frame and the frog to the lower left corner of the frame.

Select a 5 x 7 photo of siblings together for the center and insert it into the frame.

Select photos of the kids and cut them out in 1.5-inch circles. Insert them into the juice caps, securing them with two-sided tape.

TIPS

Are there more than two children participating in this Mother's Day Frame? Just add more flowers and frogs around the frame!

Is there just one child in the family? Find a snapshot of Mother and son or daughter together for the 5 x 7 photo.

FOLLOW UP FUN

The flower and frog make cute little magnets all by themselves! Assemble them following the directions above and add a magnet to the back of each. They are ready to post a Mother's Day, or "any-day" greeting.

My kids really enjoyed this project. I also liked showing them how to use the Juicy Juice box for another use. Teach em to go green at an early age.

What a great and creative project! This is simple, easy and my kids will love making picture frames to decorate around the house.
