Expert Advice for Kindergarten

Our son is a terrific speller. I'd like to encourage him with quizzes and bees.  Any ideas?

Jeff Winckler, Educator, Father, says:

I'd say go for it, play to your child's strengths and interests.  Spelling can be a great path into vocabulary development, oral language skills and writing ability.  Provided the competition is healthy, I would use the opportunity to also teach lessons about winning, losing and sportsmanship.  I am sure your local school and community resources can connect you to quizzes and bees in your area.
